Nightlife & Entertainment in Moscow

Moscow is one of the best places in the world for tourism and entertainment, attracting travellers from all over the world. After a busy day of sightseeing, the modern traveller to Moscow could find himself overwhelmed with entertainment choices once the sun has gone down. Listen to the fantastic symphonies of Tchaikovsky or the moving piano concertos of Rachmaninoff. See the elegant and timeless Russian ballets of the Bolshoi Theatre, and the exotic Moscow State Circus. The entertainment in Moscow is world class and still relatively inexpensive.

New nightclubs and discos continue to open across town, and thankfully the days of disco dominance are gone, with plenty of smaller, intimate clubs to offer variety. And there’s a wealth of live music of all genres.

Classical music, opera and ballet are strongly represented with a busy schedule of concerts and performances throughout the year, sometimes held in the cities palaces, churches or – in summer – parks and gardens. Even if you don’t speak Russian, the circus transcends language barriers, while several cinemas show films in their original language.
