Moscow Circus is justifiably famous around the world; you can see the rich tradition of the Moscow Circus. Circus has been changing in recent decades with sophisticated acts; the performers on the stage are being taken much more seriously than in the past.

Increasingly complex choreography, coordinated costumes and sets and an influx of narrative and satirical techniques borrowed from traditional performers. Illusionist, clowns, monkeys, dogs and Bengali tigers perform shows combining to create Moscow entertainment. Moscow Circuses are famous on the world for their talented people and exotic themes. The Great Moscow State Circus

The Great Moscow State Circus was opened on 30th of April 1971. Its impressive auditorium is an enormous 36 meters tall and can seat up to 3,400 people.

The Circus employs approximately several hundreds artistes at the present time. The specialists of the performers cover all the circus skills - clowning, juggling, trapeze artistry, extreme balancing and strong-man acts.

Yury Nikulin's Circus (Old Circus)

This Old Circus called also Yuri Nikulin Circus named after Russia's most famous clown and the former long-time director of the circus, is in some ways returning to its traditional roots today and is featuring more and more of the clown acts and tomfoolery that became popular during the 18th centuries in Russia.

The circus also features an excellent range of acrobatic and gymnastic acts, and performances featuring bears, horses, monkeys and dogs.

Durov Animal Theater

Founded in 1912 by the great clown and animal trainer Vladimir Durov, and still run today by his octogenarian great-granddaughter Natalia, the Durov Animal Theatre is a much-loved and genuinely unique Moscow institution that has been enchanting and amazing children for almost a century.

The theatre has a big and a small stage, and also a museum which charts the history of the theatre, and contains a number of past performers preserved for posterity.

The theater today offers a fantastic and bewildering array of performances including goats, horses, bears, wild boars, pigeons, camels, cats, dogs and mice. Great afternoon or day out for the kids and is guaranteed to put a smile on their faces.
