Getting Around St petersburg By Car



By taxi is sometimes the fastest way to get somewhere. Taxis are usually white or yellow, always with a letter K and route number plate (K-28). There are no regular stops; you must tell the driver when you want to get out, or wave while on the roadside to stop one.

It's better to negotiate the price before starting a trip. When the driver recognizes you as a foreigner, he will try to make you pay the highest price. Most of the drivers will accept us dollars if you don't have roubles.

Prices are low enough, so it is a good way of transporting, usually it costs around 100 roubles ($4) to get from the outskirts of city to the Centrum and it's around 30 roubles ($1) to move around the Centrum. I usually calculate 30 R ($1) for every 10 minutes.
