Vladivostok, meaning the “Lord of the East” in Russian, is located less than 75 miles east of the Chinese border, approximately 100 miles north of Korea and just across the Sea of Japan and 6,200 miles east of Moscow

Vladivostok, the capital of the Primorsky Kray (Primorye or Maritime Territory) is one of the most beautiful cities in Russia. It is the home port of the Russian Navy's Pacific Fleet. Home base to the Russian Pacific Fleet, the city was closed to all foreigners from 1958 until 1991.

Vladivostok is also a good center for organizing camping and trekking trips to Siberia and the Kamchatka Peninsula. Thousands of tourists from all over the world travel to Vladivostok. Some take the wonderful 7 day journey from Moscow on the Trans Siberian Railway, while others prefer to travel to Japan or China, and finally finishing their adventure by arriving at the Russian “Lord of the East”.
